Announcement List

A few months ago, I created a website (no, I didn't pick the color scheme) and announcement list for a group I'm involved in. I haven't had to do very much in the way of maintenance, because I did a really good job setting it up to start with.

Well, I actually have something to do now: I've collected about 50 names to add to the announcement list. I decided I would do that tonight and get it off my list. I figured it would take about 15 minutes.

That was an hour-and-a-half ago. I spent a few minutes writing a "custom" subscription verification email for the occasion (the one I originally wrote was nice and basic) and decided to add myself to the list for kicks, so I could check it out.

I'm still waiting for the darned verification email.

Sheesh. How long is this going to take? I was planning to turn right around and add everyone else. I mean, I was already a *teensy* bit bummed to be doing it manually; I spent a heap of time creating a nice little webform to accomplish the same thing when I made the site. I wanted people to abuse that sucker! Oh, well. It is what it is.

But still.

I want my stinkin' email!
