Best Conversation Ever

(Or "Why I Love My Mom")

It's a little after 1am and I just got off the phone with my Mom. We spent three hours discussing how to properly prune rose bushes, analyzing the declining Charleston real estate market, contrasting Spanish and Italian parts of speech, addressing how to tell whether or not you're in labor (in which I got to hear my own, my mother's and my brother's birth stories recounted for the first time), considering the impact of left- and right-brainedness on male-female relationships and one's ability to learn Hebrew, comparing our current reading lists, and making plans to work on window treatments for my dining room later this summer.

This conversation is rivaled only by one that drmellow, ccohoon, their parents, olga_ukriane and I had at dinner one night (while at sea) that spanned the feasibility of physically fitting through the hole in a toilet seat to human sacrifice to how to stage a coup on a cruise ship. Since that one did not contain my birth story, it clearly cannot be the best conversation ever. But it comes in a close second.
