I also got to hang out with my brother, eat at my favorite Italian and Chinese restaurants (oh no! I left my melanzana parmigiana in the fridge!), and catch up with some long-time friends from college in an afternoon of typically entertaining Hearts competition. We're going to have to keep an eye out for Sequence, the other game they introduced us to during our game fest. They also treated us to lunch at Cloo's, a favorite hotdog/hamburger joint near campus. Boy, did campus look different! But things at Cloo's were still the same, right down to the pinball machine in the back corner. It's nice to know that some things never change.
The most interesting part of my weekend, hands down, involved learning a little family history. Prior to Friday, I didn't know anything about my mother's ancestors beyond the names of my great-grandparents--and none of their siblings, at that. A lot of things have changed in the past few days! I'll write about my discoveries in another entry.
