Visit From The Ghost Of Weekends Past

I've been slack about updating lately, mainly because I've been out doing stuff. I'll try to hit some of the highlights in my next few entries. I'll start with the weekend before last.

Two weekends ago, my in-laws came to visit. That's always fun. I wish we got to see them more. Friday--while The Doctor™ was at work--half of cohoon ventured off to a local National Park, while I accompanied the other half to the Friendly Center for some shopping. I picked up a swanky pair of shoes at Belk's (65% off!) and some new jeans at Hecht's; I can pull on/remove my current jeans without undoing the buttons or zippers. Friday night, the four of us met up with a crowd of fellow cachers at Prissy Polly's in K'ville. Mmm. Barbecue worth leaving Greensboro for.

Saturday and Sunday, I ventured out for some more shopping; I was happy to take advantage of NC's tax-free weekend since historically, we've been in Indianapolis for the Brickyard that weekend. Found some cute pants, a skirt, and--completely by accident--the dress I've been looking for for an occasion this winter. It meets the somewhat tricky requirements of something appropriate to wear to a mid-day event in late November (cold!), that is simultaneously modest, not formal in length, and will accompany a tuxedo. Anyway, it's a lovely silk dress ($160) that I found on sale for 40 smackeroos. Best of all, I thought I would have to shrink a size to fit in it, but it zipped right up. Grand. Now I just have to get used to the idea of wearing something sleeveless with a hem just below the knee. I'm an ankle-length kind of girl at heart. However, I've got three months to adjust. It'll be hard, but I can do it.

Plus, now you can always say to yourself, "Well Angeline Jolie would wear something knee length and I totally look like her, so that's what I'll do!"

Also, you should do this LJ interests collage thing because I want you to. =)

Nope, sorry. Nada. The collage thingy has been taken down for exceeding server capacity. :(
