If These Walls Could Talk...

...they could tell me what the name of the kitchen wallpaper pattern is.

Since moving in, I've been intrigued by the kitchen wallpaper. It's a period reproduction pattern--turn of the century to mid-1920's--but decidedly Scottish or English in nature; nothing I'm familiar with from American design books.

Today, while down in the basement, I decided to root through some of the paint cans, etc. that we inherited with the house. Sure enough, I found the box that the paper came in, along with one full and two partial rolls. According to the shipping label (Uxbridge, Middlesex, GB), it journeyed directly from the manufacturer--Arthur Sanderson & Sons, Ltd.--to the previous homeowners, care of a design firm here in town. So that answered two questions for me: the current decor/color scheme was chosen by the most recent owners, and the wallpaper is indeed from across the pond.

Yay for piecing together new tidbits about our old house.
