Diversi-tea!

Because I have nothing better to do (or rather, because I'm consciously avoiding it), I decided to count how many varieties of tea we have on hand. Excluding the Lipton in the pantry, we have seventy. Seventy types of tea to choose from. In fact, I have an entire piece of furniture devoted to housing tea - an antique Chinese medicine chest I bought before we were married. Thing is, the chest has 168 different herb compartments, not counting the three drawers on the bottom. It's far from full.

Our collection is growing large enough that I think I'm going to catalogue the teas on the computer; then I'll be able to print out a menu. Right now they're semi-organized by type, but with each addition, the chest is becoming more chaotic. I think it would be really cool to have at least 100 teas on hand at any given time. I could advertise, kinda like Baskin Robbins. Houseguests and friends we have over could rest assured that we'd have a tea to their liking. Maybe I could even feature a "house blend".

That's my new goal. Next stop: 100.

I think you should start creating your own blends of teas. You could even grow some herbs to turn into tea. And then you could start selling your tea. And then you could become famouse just like Mr. Lipton. On a side note, I want some Tetley tea now.

Tetley is good stuff. I love their awesome drawstring teabags. Would you believe that I only have two Tetley teas on hand? According to my list, I've got two herbals - Peppermint and Summer Berry.
